Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki
Reiki is a gentle Japanese energy practice in which the practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the body. It is traditionally used to clear stagnant energy, align the chakras and promote peace and rest. Sessions are shorter than a massage, usually around 20 to 30 minutes, and the experience is different for everyone: some people see soft colours or notice changes in temperature and gentle tingling, while others simply drift. There is nothing you need to do, believe or prepare; you stay fully clothed throughout.

Common questions
What actually is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle Japanese energy practice. The practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the body while you simply rest. It is traditionally used to clear stagnant energy, align the chakras and promote peace and rest. Everyone experiences it differently: some people see colours, feel changes in temperature or a gentle tingling, and plenty just enjoy a genuinely peaceful lie-down.
How long does a session last?
Usually around 20 to 30 minutes, so it is shorter than a massage. With the chat before and a few quiet minutes afterwards, allow about three-quarters of an hour for your visit.
Is it hands-on or hands-off?
It can be either, and it’s entirely your choice. Alex can work with a light, still touch or with her hands just above the body throughout. Just say what you’re comfortable with.
Do I have to undress?
No. You stay fully clothed for the whole session. You only take your shoes off. Wear whatever feels comfortable to lie down in.
Do I need to believe in anything for it to be worthwhile?
No. People come to Reiki from every possible viewpoint, and curiosity is more than enough. At the very least you’ll get a genuinely restful half hour, and those are rarer than they should be.
Can Reiki treat or cure medical conditions?
No. Reiki is a complementary practice, not a medical treatment, and it makes no medical claims. Always see your doctor about health concerns. Reiki can sit gently alongside whatever care you’re receiving.
Curious about Reiki?
First-timers are especially welcome. Send Alex a message and she'll happily explain what to expect, with no obligation to book anything.
